"Our order got misplaced by UPS so still waiting for it nearly two weeks later BUT can review the food as our very picky 2Y old blue heeler mix Finn has been devouring it for over a year. A bit pricey but well worth lt- full of quality ingredients with no added fillers. Finn especially loves the pork and rockfish. Know he really does not NEED alot of fruit and veggies but makes me feel good for him to have variety and flavor- not to mention the health benefits of having antioxidants and low sugar options. Smack does offer a fair amount of 20% off sales so we try to order several bags at once as serving size is pretty small."

"My Morkie and Yorkie are extremely picky eaters. They go crazy almost uncontrollable when I get the food ready. What’s great to is I use the food as treats as well. So many treats have chemicals. "I’m afraid it is a bit oily for my dogs. My one dog in particular gets an upset stomach so I’m using it for treats and there’s a lot of it that’s just crumbles in the bottom of the bag so I’m just going to sprinkle that on their food maybe from time to time sounds like it’s got great ingredients and they do love it, but it will become a treat."

What is the shelf life ?
Hi Lisa, Smack generally stays fresh for up to 3 months after being opened and is best kept in its original packaging with the included oxygen absorber to ensure it retains freshness for as long as possible. If unopened (i.e. original seal), Smack has an 18-month shelf-life, with a best before date sticker on each bag. Additionally, a cool, dry place is recommended, away from any sources of heat.
How big are the pieces? The video ad shows them large but some of the photos on Instagram show them as more crumbled. I like to use my dogs kibble as treats on walks, can I still do that with smack?
Hi Megan, Smack is excellent for camping and for those hiking trail snacks! Some customers opt to break up the food into smaller pieces using a food processor, rolling pin or pestle and mortar.
Owing to the fact that this is dehydrated super food, just curious how many feedings a 250g pack should give an active, 3yr old, 50lbs beagle lab mix? (She currently eats about 1350-1470 calories a day.) Thanks
Hi Jen. For a 50lb adult and active dog, she would need approximately 2 cups per day. You may feed once, or optimally, split total daily amount into two feedings. A 5-pack of our Meal Variety Pack should provide 5 or 6 days of food for your dog. It is important to note that given the nature of Smack being very concentrated and nutrient dense you will find that our feeding guidelines recommend less than you may be used to feeding with another food.
